You are a 50 year -old White man or woman whose house is worth way less then when you bought it. You don’t make six figures or more, you don’t belong to a union, you don’t have money invested in Wall Street except for the 401k that isn’t worth the paper it’s written on. The congressman in your district cares more about the pharmaceutical company polluting the water in your state, then the kids getting cancer at the nearby elementary school. You did not benefit from the Bush tax cuts. Your kid went to Iraq and now can’t find a job.You don’t have health care but really need it, even though you support a candidate who won’t help you get affordable health care. The Church pastor in your neighborhood is more concerned about your wife’s birth control, than the churchgoers who can’t afford to feed their kids.
So I ask you White folks who ain’t rich, why the hell do you vote for the GOP? Why do you vote against your own political and economic interests? Okay you say the Democrats are Pro-Gay socialists who hate America. Wake up my brothas and sista’s, being Anti-Gay, Anti-Choice, Pro-war will not put any money in your pocket. Being anti-union will not improve you economic well being. Being anti-affirmative action will not make it easier for you to get affordable health care.
You are being used as a pawn by Corporate America to protect their interests. The Koch brothas talk about class warfare so they can protect their billions. They want to distract you from the real issues affecting this country, with the Flag, God and Guns.
Since the first days of this Republic, the moneyed class has convinced you that this was your country, and all you had to do is play the game and you would be rich and powerful one day. Well you did that, and what happened?. They tell you Black folks and affirmative action are the problem, rather than telling you the truth. The system is rigged against you by the Robber Barons (JP Morgan Chase…Shell Oil, Cargill, Halliburton, Walmart). Wake up my Brothas. Its right in your face. Join with your Black and Latino brothers and sisters and demand economic, political and social justice that work for you.
We must join forces and demand that the masses of this country really share in the riches of this country> If we don’t we will be the outsourcing employees to China and India. When you vote for the GOP, all you do is empower the forces that divide and conquer the working man and women in this country!.
Put aside your racial, ethnic and religious biases, and smell the coffee. Your White privilege has only taken you so far in this country. You have been pimped and played, but it is not too late to wake up and do something about it!

A little condescending there. What if they just had a different political philosophy, like say the Classical Liberalism of the Founders (similar to modern Libertarian Conservatism)? A man who lives in the apartment below mine in Franklin, NC in the mountains (very blue collar area) talks to me about the founders like he knows them, quoting their words from various biographies he’s read. He works building stores in the area but I guarantee a lot of these guys are better read than you give them credit for. Self-educated and self-made is just better to a lot of the blue collar scholars

By the way the self taught scholars fail to realize the founding fathers were the earlier moneyed class that did not care about the masses. When they could vote (they owned property) the masses of people in this country which included Poor whites (who did not own property), African slaves, Natvev Americans and Women could not. So liberty and freedom was for a limited few. Just the facts!
Cute. But this white southerner is not buying it. I would never vote for the big government libs. They want to “take care of you” like this post suggests but I’d rather just be left alone. I’ll work hard, and the value of the dollars I make won’t inflate due to massive debts. What if I save my whole life and then we have a monetary or debt crisis that devalues all the dollars that I’ve worked for my whole life. That is the kind of thing blue collar people worry about. Oh, and how to attract those evil big businesses to our towns to bring jobs. You can keep the unions

oh by the way massive debt built up buy a republican President G.W. Bush after being left with a surplus. He decides two fight two wars without paying for them. Create a prescription drug benefit program that was not paid for…and give a massive tax cut all at the same time….now you wonder why there is a massive deficit. just the facts mam!
A few points if I may, since it is your blog and I don’t want to overwhelm your comment section debating you, unless that’s what you like!
I don’t agree with your contention that the founders were a moneyed class that wanted to hold back the rest. The main founders that I admire are George Washington and Ben Franklin, and I don’t think you could say either of them grew up rich. Washington grew up in a lower-class farming family in Virginia, and Ben Franklin’s dad made candles in Boston. Franklin made tons of money as a printer by being an apprentice as a teenager. He fought successfully to reject that rule that only landowners could vote, which was a rule in PRE-revolutionary America. Franklin was also the PRESIDENT of the Pennsylvania Abolition Society and devoted the last decades of his life to building schools for “negroe” children and his last speech was how we would be hypocrites if we didn’t allow blacks freedom after our fight for freedom.
Washington, in his journals, felt tremendous guilt about owning slaves and put in his will to have them freed on his wife’s death (I know, but still). Also, he passed laws in the Viriginia assembly to ban the sale and import of slaves and spoke openly about the hypocrisy of slavery based on our “all men are created equal” values. Some in the South were on the other side of the debate, but the men usually called the “Founding Fathers” were WAY ahead of their time on this issue.
Other areas of the world, like the Arab world, only gave up African slave trade in the 1960′s and only after immense pressure from the West. Some Arab countries like Mauritania, Sudan, Mali, Niger, and Chad (all along the black-Arab line in Sahel Africa) have a culture of Arabs owning blacks to this day. Mauritania “outlawed” it in 2007, but hasn’t taken hold really in the villages, where Arabs still own over 30% of the black population. http://english.alarabiya.net/articles/2012/06/11/219996.html
Because the Republicans actually stand for something: low taxes, free markets, Christian values. It’s the Democrats who have to find it’s soul. The Dem’s throw Black folks under the bus every chance they get, and we just follow along like powerless little children. They tell US what the agenda is, and we follow. Just think about all the Black Democrats in the religious community that are pissed off about the gay marriage pronouncement from Obama. What will it take for Black folks who disagree on the marriage equality issue to break ranks with the Democrats to seek something else? But back to the issue at hand, Republicans cater to white nationalism. And this is why the poor white working class fills their ranks.
Uh Tim this was about White folks not about Black folks…stay on message dude!
